By creating a CardDex account, downloading the CardDex iOS app, or using carddex.gg ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by CardDex Inc., a North Carolina corporation (SOSID: 3342658). These Terms are a binding agreement between you and CardDex Inc. Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
CardDex is a trading card collection tracker, market price tool, and collector community platform. It lets you track your TCG collections (Pokémon — English and Japanese, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, Magic: The Gathering, Gundam Card Game, Riftbound, and others we add), scan physical cards to identify them and view market prices, manage want lists and collection value over time, check prices on live auctions and marketplaces (Buying Buddy), show live card values on your stream (CardDex Live), and access sold listing data and price history (Pro).
Price data is for informational purposes only. Market prices and card valuations displayed in CardDex come from third-party data providers and reflect past market activity. They are not guarantees of current or future value, and we do not adjust or "correct" them. Do not make financial decisions based solely on prices shown in CardDex. CardDex is not a marketplace, does not sell cards, and is not a party to any purchase you make on another site.
AI features: Card identification, slab and receipt reading, and Daily Brief text are produced by automated systems and can be wrong. Check the card, variant, and price yourself before you buy, sell, or trade.
CardDex is available as a web application at carddex.gg and as a native iOS app on the Apple App Store.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (16 in the European Economic Area or UK). By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, all activity that occurs under your account, providing accurate information when registering, and notifying us immediately at support@carddex.gg if you suspect unauthorized account access.
You may not operate multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits, abuse trials, or evade suspensions.
Free plan: CardDex is free to use with core features including collection tracking, set tracking, want lists (up to 3 price alerts), Trade Binder, Pack Math, 30 days of price history, and a limited number of daily card scans.
CardDex Pro unlocks unlimited card scans, Buying Buddy, CardDex Live, 90 days of price history and sold listing data, unlimited price alerts, full scan history, Daily Brief, and all future Pro features.
Pricing:
Free trial: New Pro subscribers receive a 3-day free trial. A valid payment method is required to start the trial. You will be charged the applicable plan price when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. One trial per account, ever.
Billing and renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. CardDex does not store your full payment card details.
Cancellation (web): Cancel any time from Settings → Manage Subscription. Access continues until the end of the current billing period; no prorated refunds except as required by law.
Cancellation (iOS): Subscriptions purchased inside the CardDex iOS app are billed to your Apple ID and renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel them in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy.
Price changes: We reserve the right to change Pro pricing with 30 days' advance email notice to existing subscribers.
Failed payments: If a payment fails, Pro access will be suspended until payment is resolved.
When you use a CardDex scanning feature (card scanner, Buying Buddy scan, graded slab reader, receipt import):
By using any scanning feature, you consent to this. You can ask us to delete your scan photos at any time by emailing support@carddex.gg. If you prefer not to have scan photos stored, use manual search to add cards instead — no image is captured during manual search. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
The CardDex iOS app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it.
Permissions the app requests:
Buying Buddy opens third-party live-auction sites and card marketplaces inside the app from a list we publish and maintain. It is not a general web browser. When you use those sites:
Home screen widget and Controls show your collection value and scan shortcuts using a read-only token stored on your device.
CardDex Live (stream overlay) uses a separate desktop app that you install and link to your account. It captures only what you point it at; you are responsible for what you broadcast.
You agree not to:
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without prior notice.
Public profiles, reporting, and blocking: Display names, usernames, bios, avatars, and pinned cards on public profiles are user-generated content and must follow these rules. Any signed-in collector can report a profile (More > Report profile) or block a user (More > Block). Blocking hides each profile from the other and removes follows between you. The CardDex team reviews every report within 24 hours and may edit or remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Abuse of the reporting system is itself a violation.
You retain ownership of content you create in CardDex — your collection data, notes, and photos of your cards. By uploading content, you grant CardDex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and process that content solely to provide the Service to you and, in the case of scan images, for service improvement as described in Section 5.
You represent that you own or have the right to upload any content you add to CardDex, and that it does not violate any third party's rights.
The CardDex name, logo, app design, UI, and codebase are owned by CardDex and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works without written permission.
Card names, artwork, set logos, and game mechanics are the property of their respective owners: Pokémon (The Pokémon Company / Nintendo / Creatures Inc. / GAME FREAK), One Piece Card Game and Gundam Card Game (Bandai), Disney Lorcana (Disney / Ravensburger), Magic: The Gathering (Wizards of the Coast), Riftbound (Riot Games). CardDex displays this content for informational and collection tracking purposes and does not claim ownership of any third-party card content.
CardDex is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Bandai, Wizards of the Coast, Disney, Ravensburger, Riot Games, or any marketplace or auction platform available through Buying Buddy. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
DMCA / Copyright: If you believe content on CardDex infringes your copyright, contact support@carddex.gg with your contact information, a description of the copyrighted work, where the infringing material appears, and a statement of good-faith belief.
By you: Delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing support@carddex.gg.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account for Terms violations, failed payment not resolved after 30 days, legal requirements, or abuse that harms other users or our infrastructure. For non-severe violations we will generally provide notice before terminating.
After deletion or termination: Your account enters a 30-day grace period during which you can restore it by signing in; after that your profile, collection, scan photos, and other personal data are permanently deleted and your Sign in with Apple authorization is revoked. Financial records are retained as required by law. Termination for cause does not entitle you to a refund. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled in iOS Settings — deleting your account does not cancel them.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CARDDEX DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT MARKET PRICES DISPLAYED ARE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR ANY FINANCIAL DECISION, OR THAT CARD IDENTIFICATION WILL BE ACCURATE IN ALL CONDITIONS.
Price data is provided for informational use only and does not represent actual market value or guarantee transaction prices. We make no warranty about any third-party site opened through Buying Buddy, any seller on those sites, or any AI-generated identification or text.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CARDDEX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY FINANCIAL LOSSES BASED ON PRICE DATA DISPLAYED IN THE APP OR DECISIONS MADE BASED ON CARD IDENTIFICATIONS, OR ANY TRANSACTION YOU ENTER INTO ON A THIRD-PARTY SITE OPENED THROUGH THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CARDDEX IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $100 USD.
Informal resolution first: Contact us at support@carddex.gg and give us 30 days to resolve the issue before filing any legal claim.
Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States.
Venue: Any disputes not resolved informally shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.
No class actions: Any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.
EU consumers: Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable EU consumer protection law.
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
